His Most Reverend Excellency Monsignor Dominique-Marie DAVID received in the Archbishopric the new Ambassador of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta to the Principality of Monaco, Alberto di Luca. It was an opportunity to recall the historical and ancient relationships that bind the Catholic Church to the Sovereign Order of Malta.
Recently Ambassador Alberto di Luca welcomed guests to the new Chancellery at the Park Palace in Monaco for a brief inauguration ceremony of the new Chancellery. We were honoured by the presence of Fra' Nicola Tegoni - Member of the Sovereign Council of the Order of Malta - the Director of the Department of Diplomatic and Consular Relations Marie-Catherine Caruso-Ravera and the President of the Monegasque Association of the Order of Malta Jean Kerwat.
The Sovereign Military Order of Malta has an almost millennial history of dedication and service to the poorest, weakest and sickest. In the Principality of Monaco and from the Principality of Monaco, various humanitarian and social initiatives have been promoted by the Embassy of the Sovereign Order of Malta and by the Monegasque Association of the Sovereign Order of Malta.
On Thursday, 11 April, H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco received at the Prince’s Palace H.E. Ambassador Alberto di Luca for the presentation of the Letters of Credence.
A long friendship and over fifteen years of diplomatic relations between the Principality of Monaco and the Order of Malta were honoured during a visit to Rome by a delegation of the Conseil National, the Principality’s single-chamber parliament.
The Ambassador of the Order of Malta to Monaco Umberto Di Capua and the First Counselor Mario Abate took part in the ceremony for the festivity of Sainte Devote.
The Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta to Monaco Umberto Di Capua attended the Holy Mass at the Cathedral of Our Lady Immaculate to celebrate the Fete Nationale of the Principality of Monaco.
On July 18th Cardinal Piero Parolin made an official visit to the Principality and the diocese of Monaco and attended the Sunday Vespers. Ambassador of the Order of Malta, H.E. Umberto Di Capua, attended the ceremony.
