Monaco, December 31
Ambassador Alberto Di Luca visited His Excellency Archbishop Dominique-Marie David at the Archdiocese headquarters. The meeting took place in a cordial and collaborative atmosphere and represented an important opportunity to discuss topics of common interest.
Among the issues discussed during the conversation was the “Holy Land Emergency” project. This fundraising initiative, with both humanitarian and spiritual significance, is promoted by the Embassy of the Sovereign Order of Malta in the Principality of Monaco with the aim of providing primary assistance to the populations of Southern Lebanon and Gaza, while also supporting the Sacred Family Hospital (run by the Order of Malta) in Bethlehem. In the Holy Land, as well as worldwide, the Order of Malta operates in an interfaith and apolitical context.
This project enjoys the prestigious patronage of Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Patriarch of Jerusalem.
The meeting concluded with an exchange of New Year’s greetings, with hopes that 2025 may be a year of peace, prosperity, and dialogue.
Ambassador Di Luca’s visit is part of a series of constructive dialogues between civil and religious institutions, highlighting the importance of collaboration in addressing global challenges with a spirit of unity and solidarity.
