Monaco, 25th June 2025
On Wednesday, 25th June 2025, the Yacht Club de Monaco hosted the celebration of the National Day of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, bringing together around one hundred distinguished guests in an atmosphere of friendship and solemnity. The event renewed and strengthened the deep ties between the Principality of Monaco and the Order of Malta, despite the absence of an official delegation from the Palace, which was engaged in Japan for the EXPO.

Ambassador Alberto di Luca, accompanied by his wife Emanuela, welcomed the guests, joined by First Counsellor Cecilia Casiraghi and Counsellors Giangi Serena di Lapigio and Mauro Torre.
After the performance of the national anthems of the Order of Malta and the Principality, Ambassador di Luca highlighted the strength of bilateral cooperation:
“Our partnership with the Principality of Monaco is an exemplary model of shared vision. In fifty years of the Monegasque Association of the Order’s presence and fifteen years of diplomatic relations, we have achieved concrete and impactful projects: from humanitarian support in Lebanon and Senegal to assistance for children with cardiac conditions through the Centre Cardio-Thoracique.”

In a complex international context, the Ambassador reaffirmed the Order of Malta’s commitment:
“In 2025, as the world faces conflicts, humanitarian crises, and threats to international stability, the Sovereign Order of Malta resolutely reaffirms its role as a sovereign entity and humanitarian actor. True to our motto Tuitio Fidei et Obsequium Pauperum – Defence of the Faith and Service to the Poor – we renew our commitment to act as a force for peace, justice, and hope.”

Among the most significant announcements was the presentation of an initiative currently being launched: “By the end of the year, thanks to collaboration with the Rotary Clubs of Monaco, Dubai, Milan Morimondo, and Bethlehem, we will formalize a pioneering model of humanitarian cooperation, placing the Principality of Monaco at the heart of a global effort.”
The speech concluded with special thanks to CMB Monaco, for its support of the event.
The evening then featured a high-level artistic performance, introduced by Maurizio Di Maggio of Radio Monte Carlo. Baritone Alberto Gazale, accompanied on the piano by Maestro Marco Francesco Schirru, delivered a performance that was enthusiastically applauded and especially praised by the Minister of Health and Social Affairs, Mr Christophe Robino, who commended the excellence of the interpretation.

The event concluded with a cocktail dinner, allowing guests to engage in conversation and forge new connections, further strengthening the spirit of collaboration that defines the Order’s activities in the Principality and around the world.
