The Embassy of the Sovereign Order of Malta to the Principality of Monaco today celebrated the Solemnity of Saint John the Baptist, the Saint Patron of the Order.
After a welcoming speech by Ambassador Umberto di Capua, the national anthems of the Principality of Monaco and the Order of Malta were sung.
“This gathering allows us to join in the celebration of Saint John, the Saint Patron of the Order, and to remember the importance of the fruitful relations between our Sovereign countries ”, the ambassador said in his speech.
The ceremony concluded with the blessing conferred by Archbishop Msg Bernard Barsì.
At the end of the ceremony, the Ambassador greeted the more than one hundred guests present in the gardens of the Hotel Hermitage. Among the guests were also members of the government, members of the accredited diplomatic corps, members of civil society, and religious figures.
The feast of the Patron Saint, June 24, was celebrated by Grand Priories, associations, embassies, and relief bodies of the Order of Malta on five continents.
